On 14 March BASIC’s Risk Reduction Programme in association with Rethinking Security hosted a track 1.5 workshop, ‘Shaping a Sustainable Security Architecture for Europe’, in Vilnius, Lithuania with participation from 24 representatives from the Baltic states, Nordic states and the United States.
The purpose of the workshop was to consider a new model for European security that reduces the risk of conflict and addresses climate change’s impact on security. The workshop is the first in a series of five workshops BASIC will hold in 2024-2025.
The workshop is part of our joint project ‘Turning Point: Realising a Sustainable Architecture in Europe’, generously funded by Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation and drawing on some of the findings of our own Alternative Security Review project.
