The NATO summit on 7th– 8th July is likely to be a crucial moment for UK and European security policy.
Amid strains in Europe’s relationship with the US from Ukraine to Greenland, soaring military spending, disarray in defence planning, UK implication in ongoing war and genocide in the Middle East, and accelerating climate breakdown, will the UK double down on its course of US-dependent militarised security and arms-racing or is the obvious breakdown of the NATO consensus leading to new paths out of polycrisis?
Ian Davis of NATO Watch will offer some analysis of the Ankara summit before we open for discussion about what next for advocating for people- and planet-centred security.
