Rethinking Security’s work on evidence and insights aims to amplify persuasive evidence, analysis and ideas that can shape more inclusive, democratic and evidence-based UK security policy and practice agendas effectively promoting peace, sustainability and human security in the UK and globally. We do this through, among other things:
- Networking, planning, co-creation & momentum building – sharing updates with a group of over 300 leading scholars, joining and helping organise academic events, bringing together relevant experts with policymakers and practitioners, and helping develop projects, fora and initiatives to research and debate security issues
- Enriching debates on key security issues with academic and expert voices – via podcasts, op-eds, briefings and inputs into policy debates
- Engaging and energising tomorrow’s experts – feeding into courses, seminars, questions or curricula for students and early career researchers, and amplifying their voices.
We are open to collaborate with all those interested in rethinking security. We have recently worked with:
- University of Bradford’s Department of Peace Studies and International Development;
- British International Studies Association (BISA) Security Policy and Practice Working Group;
- Conflict Research Society;
- Coventry University’s Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations;
- Institute of Development Studies;
- King’s College London’s Centre for Grand Strategy;
- Open University’s Open Societal Challenges programme;
- University of Sussex’s School of Global Studies.
We also advise on research initiatives led by the Open University and the London School of Economics.
